From San Pellegrino in Alpe, the highest village in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, located right on the border between the two regions follow the dirt road towards Rifugio Pradaccio and continue along the mountain pastures in the direction of Passo delle Radici.

From here follow uphill the provincial road; then go on the left along the dirt road that reach the “Giro del Diavolo” (devil’s round), an accumulation of stones brought by pilgrims as penance. Continue for a kilometer until the entrance to the CAI 00 path on the left: follow it along a beautiful stretch of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine ridge, where suggestive views open up.

Now continue towards Bassa del Saltello, and when the dirt road appears ride back to the right towards San Pellegrino in Alpe. After about two kilometers leave the dirt road again and go down a forest road immersed in a beech forest to Rifugio Burigone. Here, following the signs for San Pellegrino in Alpe, ride across characteristic mountain pastures where it is easy to find flocks of sheep grazing.
